Color is critical in smaller spaces and open floorplans. Notice how turquoise blue is not only used to define the dining area, but is also sprinkled throughout the living area to blend the two spaces together.

After moving to a smaller home, award-winning ASID designer Ann Wisniewski realized that the downsizing process presents unique challenges and requires a special approach. Recognizing the growing need for this particular design style, she teamed with Theresa Druckenmiller, IFDA, and launched DOWNSIZE Design™ to cater to people who want to move to smaller spaces without compromising functionality or personality.

DOWNSIZE Design is an ideal resource for baby boomers and other empty nesters who no longer want or need a large house; people who want an in-town address convenient to work, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues; and those who simply want the freedom afforded by a home that requires little or no maintenance.

Our DOWNSIZE Design expertise includes color consultation, space planning, use of multi-purpose furnishings and built-ins, furniture placement for both existing and contemporary pieces customized to fit your space, window treatments, art and accessories. Along with our support team, we can provide a solution to your needs during each phase of the downsizing process. Our goal is to create a space that meets out clients wants and needs so that ultimately it will be the right size for them.

" In downsizing from a three-bedroom room house to a two-bedroom condo, we had to weed out numerous pieces.  Ann kept the most important pieces from my collection, added new touches and coordinated the colors throughout my new home.  The compliments from those who enter are a testament to a job well done by Ann.  It is an honor to recommend her to all who have seen the beautiful results in my home.
